By his actions, Thierry Marceau bring back many different well known images. Those popular images are puted together in some strange narrative, a bit like dreams, with all the freedom it gives. Costumed, in the centre of the scene, the artist embody those multiple images et surround himself of extras and other caracters to complete the story. Every proposition is directly anchored to the present situation and find a way to do something unexpected. Between cynism and idiocy, Marceau ask «the other» to compromise himself. The spectators have no choice and get in the game. They have to deal with an attitude using at the same time «spectacular», «humor» and «derision». With is interventions, the artist find a way to get the crowd arround him and be the center of attraction.Thierry Marceau is in movement and displace everything arround him... even what we thought that was fixed forever. ------ Thierry Marceau completed his master degree in visual and mediatic arts at Université du Québec à Montréal. His work was shown in some exibitions as «Glissements. Art et écriture» at Galerie de l’UQAM (curated by Louise Déry) and «poils» at Joyce Yahouda Gallery.
